Recent Interest in Nutrition Research


Abstract
The interest on the research in nutritional sciences is steadly increased in these days. under the worldwide circumstances of the slow increasing of food production compare to the rapid growing population.
The main stream of the research in nutritional problems could be classified into three categories, fundamental study in general, the nutritional problems in under-developed or developing countries, and the developed countries as well. The worldwide interested topics in the nutritional sciences, in meanwhile, might be stated as follows:
1. Long term effects of early human malnutrition
2. Adaptive change to low nutrients intake
3. Role of trace element in nutrition
4. Nutrition on growth and development
5. Nutrition and infection
6. Subclinical malnutrition (Undernutrition)
7. The changing ecology of nutrition problems
8. Interaction between stimulation and malnutrition
9. Surveillance of national nutritional problems
10. Clinical and biological evaluation of protein quality
11. Parenteral nutrition
12. Etiopathogenesis of obesity
13. Cystic fibrosis, management and nutritional aspect
14. Role of diet in some metabolic disturbances
15. Recent advances in the knowledge of vitamin function and metabolism 16. Alcohol and nutrition
17. Iron and human nutrition
18. Role of nutrition in aging
19. Malabsorption due to carbohydrate intolerance
20. Dietary factors in atherosclerosis
21. Maternal nutriticn and the success of pregnancy
22. Nutrition in fertility and reproduction
23. Modern urban nutrition problems
24. Potentially toxic substances in human foods
25. Applied community nutrition programs
26. Evaluation of biomedical parameters of nutritional significance in public health.
Besides of these worldwide interested topics, the nutritional study in our country concerned, the most r_ecessity research might be the fundamental field for our nation, which will be able to state as following five area:
1. Nationwide nutrition survey
2. The survey for the normal physical data of Korean
3. The study on the daily recommended dietary allowances for Korean
4. The study on the digestion ax1 i absorption rates of Korean native deits
5. The study on the chemical analysis of Korean native foods and kooked foods, and the:
analysis of amino acid composition and trace elements, and their standarization.
